Longan. Whats it mean?

The Longan Scholarship Foundation aspires to nurture leadership qualities in university students for the benefit of Canadian society. The Foundation takes its name from the longan, a fruit which is modest in appearance but encompasses a wealth of meaning. In Asian culture, the sweet fruit is reputed to enhance learning. The seed within, if carefully nurtured, will mature into a magnificent tree, sometimes reaching 100 feet in height. In Cantonese, longan means eye of the dragon, a creature associated with beneficence and leadership.
